CSM Corp. is moving on plans to construct the third phase of its planned 800,000 square foot Lexington Preserve Business Park in Blaine.
The new addition would include a 46,000 square foot, three-story office/classroom building for the Minnesota School of Business/Globe College. Lexington Preserve's first two phases include a 126,000 square foot distribution facility leased by Aveda Corp. and an 87,700 square foot, multi-tenant office showroom building.
The CSM/Minnesota School of Business proposal has been approved by Blaine's planning commission and was set to go before the City Council on April 6. The developer is hoping to break ground on the addition in May.
The 4.7-acre site is located directly east of the Aveda building at 3860 Pheasant Ridge Drive Northeast.
The Minnesota School of Business operates seven post-secondary schools in Minnesota, with facilities in Brooklyn Center, Plymouth, Richfield/Bloomington, Rochester, Shakopee and St. Cloud. Blaine city officials say school officials have been scouting locations in Blaine "for some time."
The school would have frontage along Interstate 35W. Its building materials would include brick, stucco, insulated metal panels and glass. The facility would have 278 parking spaces, more than called for by city code, and would serve a student population of between 800 and 850.
